    Old, Antique 1940's Womens FRENCH COURTING SCENE & FLORAL Needlepoint & Petit Point Handbag PURSE
    this is a large beautiful purse
    measures: 15" wide x 3" deep x 12.75" high
    16" strap
    the entire body, base and each side are covered in wool needlepoint design
    front side has a petit point 19th Century French couple lovers courting scene which is beautifully executed: the blond haired gentleman is holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and his cap in the other ...the brunette beauty sits with her hand outstretched on a stone base
    the entire purse has floral needlepoint and scrollwork design done
    dark cream/tan leather piping on each side
    4 brass feet
    gold tone metal and leather frame & side trim
    double thick & stitched leather handle
    interior is lined with a sage green leather: 2 interior slip pockets have gold leather piping edges & 1 zipper pocket (Talon zipper design dates to the 1930's-1940's)
    purse weighs just over 2 pounds
    only flaws:
