REGENCY, 1840S KNIT MISERS PURSE, BELLFLOWER, CARVED FITTINGS

Description

This is a rare, early 19th century miser's purse. The crochet or knot body has two carved bone ornaments at the ends, and two carved round sliders.
The knit is in colors of teal and chocolate brown, a little brighter than the photos show.
There is a slit in the middle for coins, it's about 9 1/2" long, not including the carved embellishments.
The bellflower carvings each have a few "teeth" missing from the flared parts, one of the tiny "drops" at the very end of one has some wear. There is one break in the knit.
